2024 CDTA Council Election Results

(1) Notice of Election

The Notice of Election was published on the CDTA website and distributed to the Membership via email on February 26, 2024, March 11, 2024 and March 18, 2024. The deadline for Nominations was of March 18, 2024. The Notice of Election, call for nominations, and nomination package was posted on the CDTA website.

(2) Review of Nomination(s)

The Nomination and Election Committee convened via videoconference on March 20, 2024, to review the nomination(s) received prior to the nomination deadline. In total, the Committee reviewed and approved one (1) nomination. The Nomination, and Election Committee found the nomination to be valid.

(3) Appointment of Nominee by Acclamation

Two regulated member positions on Council were open for election in the 2024 election. In accordance with the CDTA bylaws, because the number of nominations received is less than the number of vacancies on Council, the Nomination and Election Committee appointed by acclamation, Gary Wakelam (RDT), to the CDTA Council on a 3-year term in accordance with the CDTA Bylaws.

(4) Review of the Composition of Council

As per Appendix A of the CDTA Bylaws, the “Council Transition Plan” implements staggered election terms for Regulated Member Councillors. On January 1, 2024, Council position 4 became vacant due to the resignation of Councillor 4 from the profession. The term for this vacant position concludes on April 30, 2026.
