2025 Council Election

2025 CDTA Council Election Update

Notice of Election and Nomination Status

The Notice of Election was provided on February 25, 2025, and called for nominations to fill the Regulated Member position on our Council for the term April 30, 2025 – April 30, 2028. Communications for the Notice of Election were published on the CDTA website and distributed to the Membership via email on February 25, 2025, and again on March 7, 2025. The nomination deadline was set for March 18, 2025.

No nominations were received for the Regulated Member position for the term April 30, 2025 – April 30, 2028.

Given the above update, there will be no election this year and we will be moving to an Expression of Interest to fill the vacant position.

Applications will be accepted until 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2025. Upon closing, the Council will review all Expression of Interest applications and will make the final decision as to who is appointed in this position.

If you are an eligible[1] Regulated Member in good standing and you meet the criteria to be considered for this vacancy, we invite you to apply!

How to Apply

If you are interested in being considered to fill the vacancy on Council, please fill out the following forms and email the completed documents to electioncommittee@cdta.ca before 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 25, 2025.

* The decision to move to an Expression of Interest is In accordance with Part 3(10)(3) of the CDTA bylaws “Vacancies on Council” stating: If the required number of members of the Council is not nominated or elected, the newly elected Council may appoint any Regulated Member in good standing, who is eligible for nomination and election, who is a resident of Alberta to fill the vacancy for the duration of the term.

Council's Role

We value Council’s unique perspective to ensure we represent both Public and Regulated Member's interests, shaping the future of dental technology in Alberta.

Councillors play a key role in governing the CDTA and ensuring it meets its responsibilities to Albertans by making important policy decisions and developing and monitoring the CDTA Strategic Plan. They will also have key input in the Continuing Competence program requirements, how members are audited, and much more.

Councillors are paid an honorarium plus travel, accommodation and meal expenses for each Council approved meeting attended. There are four remaining scheduled meetings for 2025. The full Council meeting schedule is available on our website at: https://cdta.ca/about-cdta/council.
