Students & Assistants

Registration for

PRACTICUM STUDENT MEMBERSHIP AND DENTAL LAB TECHNICIAN ASSISTANT MEMBERSHIP

1. All individuals, other than educational students, must apply by application and assessment directly to the College and meet academic prerequisite requirements if they wish to proceed to certification as a Regulated member.

2. Once approved by the Registrar for membership Registration Fees are due. Currently fees are $100.00 for Assistants and $210.00 for Practicum and Educational Students per annum.

3. The College advises the applicant that he/she is a member and their name appears on the Assistant or Practicum Student Registry. The individual is then eligible to commence with the examination process directly through the College.

4. The Professional Examination Board will mail out application forms and the examination process information to new members.

5. It is the responsibility of the Auxiliary/Practicum member to contact the College directly to register for any upcoming examinations. The College will, through resources available, keep the member informed of upcoming examinations. Practical and Theory examinations are only held a few times a year so it is the Auxiliary / Practicum Student members responsibility to stay in contact with the Examinations Board. If a change of residence takes place advise the College office immediately.

6. Once the individual has successfully completed all assessed examination components for certification, he/she’s membership will be transferred to the College Registry for status as an R.D.T, or D.T. At present membership dues are $840.00 per annum for Registered Dental Technologists and Registered Dental Technicians.

7. The successful candidate receives a Certificate of Registration and a Registration card as well as the Professional benefits of being a fully registered member in the Province of Alberta.

NOTE:
It is imperative  that you keep the College office informed of any address changes.
